Ad Astra’ explores the intersection between human nature and space technology, using acrylic paint on a skateboard. Inspired by the sci-fi film ‘Interstellar’, I used elements of colour and distinct lines to create contrast in order to illustrate the face of humanity beyond space-specific context. Moreover, to introspect through a futuristic lens: A combination of traditional painting techniques in contrast to the futuristic art style to introspect upon the pillars of scientific advancement and how they surpass the essence of humanity. How the willpower of humanity ‘felt through hardship to the stars’ culminates the pillars of scientific advancement.
