Learn and Explore
Welcome to the Learn and Explore, a place for teaching resources and creative activities within isArtworks.
Learn is currently being developed as the space for interaction with selected works. It will be linked to curated resources that activate the power of the arts, and our own student artworks will be used as tools for learning across a broad range of themes and content areas – both in the arts and across the curriculum.
Thinking Routines
Thinking routines are a series of steps that guide a student's thought process, teaching them critical thinking and leading to more open discussions
Use thinking routines to explore the galleries. Find your favourite work, follow the steps set out in the thinking routine, and see how using it can change your perception of the work and the way you interact with it
Treasure Hunts
These treasure hunts are designed to connect Year 3 to Year 7 learners to a world of ideas generated by the imagination of student artists as displayed in isArtworks
Utilising the Making and Responding strands of both the Victorian Curriculum and Australian Curriculum, the treasure hunt activities encourage students to closely observe artworks, allowing for reflection and discussion, and an opportunity to create their own piece of art
Artist Spotlight
Learn more about the artists who have inspired Member School students
Creativity usually starts with a spark, and sometimes, that spark comes from seeing another’s work. Student artists can often draw inspiration from the artists who came before as they learn about artistic movements, techniques and artforms
