We were asked to recreate a piece of artwork by studying the technique the artist has used to achieve the quality of the artwork. I chose Lorde’s Melodrama album cover painted by Sam McKinniss for my study. I love the colour and the way the artist created a balance between realism and emphasising the texture of the paint and brush strokes in certain areas, to create a striking, vibrant piece of work.
