When I started my peacock I knew it would be a long journey. We spent months of last year doing them. The details got harder and harder as I went on. But when I finished I knew it was worth it!

I made this peacock in craft. We were asked to make any pattern we wanted and I put my star sign on the tip of the peacock tail. I enjoyed the process and it was really fun.

While working in my peacock I started to feel a connection to him. As I went through sewing the patterns, it made me think that my peacock was telling me a story, a story of the future, of his family and friends. The tail represents a side of me which loves symmetry and patterns. The expression that I see on my peacock gives him a character, as if he’s alive.

I was inspired to make my peacock to be different and unique to everyone else’s and I could express my feelings onto the felt. My inspiration for the peacock was how I would feel every day when I was in Class 5, and I was so grateful to have that opportunity to express those feeling in my unique and one-of-a-kind peacock.
