I like this piece by Scarlet because it sends a good message, to think happy thoughts. The hair strands reminded me of neural pathways that are the basis of our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. As we use these neural pathways more and more every day, the deeper and more powerful they become, like carved out channels in our brain, which helps us to internalise and ‘store’ happiness. Most people in the world right now are impacted by COVID-19, coping with the death of loved ones, staying afloat in their livelihoods or battling mental health. This piece evoked feelings of hope and a reminder to focus and lean into little joys even in wild weather.
