In this work, I wanted to explore the Greek myth of Narcissus. The red string that interweaves the rice paper references the Chinese myth about the ‘red thread of fate’. This idea is important to me because it symbolises how everyone and everything is intrinsically belonging to something greater, even during a time of highly atomised individuals.
