Art, imagination and aspirations
The visual arts can help students learn about themselves and the world around them. The dynamic nature of the arts through its socially informed practice is inextricably interwoven with global culture and its economy and so through Career Allsorts, provides a powerful platform for students to think about their work of the future.
Career Allsorts provides us with a complex array of conceptual self-portraiture created by primary students from six schools across Victoria.
Through arts-based approaches and creative thinking, students can reflect on their interests and skills and join seemingly disparate ideas together to form new and exciting lines of enquiry that can be projected into the formation of their individual and shared futures.
The creation of each artwork has centralised the student in a conversation on their own learning, talents and aspirations for the future. The expressive use of visual language in each work enables the exploration of a complex combination of skill sets that represent unique learner profiles and a strong sense of identity.
Please enjoy viewing the works at our Docklands gallery until Saturday 29 April 2023 and online on isArtworks, our digital art gallery.
