The continuing importance of creativity
Encouraging creativity and creative thinking are central to modern education. They aim to equip students with the competencies and skills to succeed in school and in their lives, helping them with their learning and having a positive impact on their confidence and sense of wellbeing.
The ISV Annual Student Art Exhibition encourages and celebrates the creativity and creative thinking of the students attending Independent schools.
This year’s exhibition, our 18th, features works of art in a range of mediums from eight of ISV’s Member Schools. Once again, the exhibition highlights the creativity of our young artists and the commitment of their teachers to this fundamental area of education.
The exhibition is a popular highlight of ISV’s school arts program, which supports the role of the arts in a rounded school education.
This year our program included two innovative features – Career Allsorts, an exhibition focused on encouraging primary students to think about their talents and interests to help reveal possibilities for career choices.
And Transformative Repair, in which artworks show how students have reflected on how damage can be an opportunity to create solutions for the complex issues that are part of their emerging world view.
